POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a remote, part-time role reporting to our COO. This role is open to anyone living in the United States.

 

The part-time Project Manager role will start at 20 hours per week, with room for growth as we scale. This role may occasionally require additional (flexible) hours.

 

While this role has a flexible schedule, a successful candidate will be able to participate on a daily basis, Monday through Friday. The majority of work will be performed during business hours, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Time.

 

MISSION

The Project Manager owns the entire lifecycle of projects at Illuminated, ensuring they run smoothly, meet deadlines, and align with internal standards and client expectations.

 

Acting as the central point of coordination, they oversee task execution, tracking progress and keeping all stakeholders aligned. Success in this role requires clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and relentless attention to detail, along with the ability to address roadblocks and optimize processes for maximum efficiency.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Oversee project execution, ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and quality standards while proactively addressing risks.
  • Serve as the primary contact for project updates, proactively communicating progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders.
  • Track and manage client and internal projects in ClickUp, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Facilitate seamless collaboration, ensuring smooth coordination between internal teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Monitor resource allocation, balancing team capacity and project priorities effectively.
  • Optimize workflows and processes, identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency.

 

PROFICIENCIES

ClickUp Expertise & Tech Proficiency

If you love systems, dashboards, and automation, this is the role for you. Success in this position requires deep expertise in ClickUp for project tracking, task management, and workflow optimization. The ideal candidate has experience setting up custom automations, dashboards, and reporting structures to ensure every project stays on track. Familiarity with Slack, Google Workspace, and Zoom is also important for seamless communication and coordination.

 

Ownership & Accountability

You don’t just check tasks off a list—you own project execution. The Project Manager is responsible for identifying inefficiencies, solving problems before they escalate, and maintaining operational excellence. They work autonomously, using best practices and leadership-driven vision to resolve roadblocks and continuously improve processes.

A great Project Manager is obsessed with efficiency and always looking for ways to streamline operations, remove obstacles, and refine workflows to keep projects running smoothly. This role requires someone who thrives on analyzing project performance, spotting inefficiencies, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience: 3+ years in project management, preferably in a digital agency, marketing, or creative services environment

 

COMPENSATION

Job Type: Independent Contractor, Part Time (20+ hours/week), Hourly, 100% Virtual

Salary Range: $50 - $60 / hour, depending on experience
